PS is fairly low, check steam charts and omit the past two days of the sale. HLL has a larger following and active player population. HLL and Squad, this logi role is spread across all leaders which reduces risk and may promote more team play. One hit or miss on PS is the dedicated logi squad meaning your game may depend on that single squad and that single leader to be effective. PS map and marking system is superior, IMO, making that critical task of updating intel and order marks easier as compared to the way its implemented in HLL right now. PS has a simpler system, squad channel, command channel, and direct SL to SL comms. The PS suppression mechanic is great, IMO, HLL is ok and both are better than Squad's negligible attempt.Īnd it may just be due to my time in game, but I prefer leading in PS. In HLL i could be next to a tank and it sounds miles away. Sound quality is miles ahead in PS, knowing that HLL is making edits to this. PS is fine out of the box, no tweaks needed. HLL has large obnoxious friendly player markers on your hud. I find HLL atrocious compared to PS's simple design. The BLUFOR marking system on the map for SLs and your HUD is a good example for me. Performance in both games is a challenge as you approach 70 + players in a server. Sadly, looks like people can edit GFX in both games to get an advantage (foliage/shadows/draw distance) but I dont remember if either game took action against this. I cannot get HLL to look good at all and still have buildings around 200 meters out never rendering. The GFX and visual effects in PS seem, on my PC, better. Tickets matter, lives matter, there is no silly REDEPLOY meta going on, at least not as bad. PS has both tanks and light vehicles for transportation. For me, PS has better gun play, movement mechanics. The sound quality, visuals, and game play loop in HLL is underwhelming right now. The game was playing really smooth, but all the trees in the distance were floating green bulbs, and all the grass and trees up close were still really low poly. The only gripe I have is that all of my textures were using the low lod versions. I like how there are squads specified as armour, or logistics. Yeah, it does seem like a more focused squad in some aspects form what I've played. Gun play and team play/comms are PS's strong points.

It does put a strain on weaker PC systems as its a very big game with the best ballistics in any game I have played. I know players with 5000hrs so its got mileage. I have over 1800hrs now I have had more than my moneys worth with a great many content releases to keep us interested. Its peaks and troughs with a game like this and it has been dipping and climbing in regular fashion since is released. The Pop is a little low but the current sale and new content rolling out will see it climb again. It does look like it is growing, but does it look like it will continue to grow, or teeter off again? Thanks for the responses! How is the player base of PS doing also? Last I looked, it had an average of 600~ daily players. It has a small but dedicated community and the server hosts are very experienced now and run good quality platforms for players to enjoy. I have never had a problem finding a server to play on (I'm in the UK) since it launched in August 2018.

HLL is still pretty rusty and is in EA so it needs a lot more work before it reaches its potential.
